Mertz, Vanessa German and City of Asylum writer-in-residence Yaghoub Yadali; City Council member Corey O&#8217;Connor; all letter writers, and all the volunteers that helped make tonight a successful event leading into Human Rights Day week events!<\/p>\n<p>We wrote at least 550 letters tonight!!!<br \/>\nWe have many members writing from home and a few more that might float in over the next few days, so I&#8217;d say we got close to 600 letters written at this year&#8217;s write-a-thon\/Human Rights Festival!!<\/p>\n<p>THANK YOU!<\/p>\n<p>REMINDER: We are hosting an informal Human Rights Happy Hour after the Festival on December 12th from 5:30-8:30 pm at Sharp Edge Beer Emporium at 302 S St Clair Street in Friendship. All are welcome to attend for updates following the Festival and to relax and have fun!<br \/>\n~<br \/>\nAmnesty International Pittsburgh is happy to announce an expanded version of our annual national Write-a-thon being planned for <strong>Monday, December 9, 2013 from 6-9 pm<\/strong> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/preview#!q=Calvary+Episcopal+Church%2C+Shady+Avenue%2C+Pittsburgh%2C+PA&amp;data=!4m15!2m14!1m13!1s0x8834f20b1c07f519%3A0x2360b2cd811a87b6!3m8!1m3!1d82505!2d-79.9805004!3d40.4313684!3m2!1i1234!2i652!4f13.1!4m2!3d40.456099!4d-79.922417\" target=\"_blank\">Calvary Episcopal Church<\/a>.
